I‘d probably be dead right now if it weren’t for my home alarms security systems. That seems a bit dramatic, but I believe I could have died if that little buzzer rang out throughout my home.
I had just come home from a long day at work. I was exhausted, so I passed out around 8-9 PM. After a night of tossing and turning, suddenly I hear the alarm rang out. BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ. I woke up, of course, grabbed my firearm (which I never thought I’d use, it was a little Walther PPQ.) It feels light; I didn’t replenish ammunition last time I was at the range.
I look out my window, and saw a man running away. Brinks calls, and asks if I was OK. They called for the police. Well, it turned out, the police ended up picking up the guy on their way over.
With him, he had a Phoenix .22LR pistol while I’m a fighter, so I definitely would have tried to tackle his gun away. I believe, that 100%, my alarm saved my life, and the good people at brinks are to thank for it.
